As we look ahead to the 2025 and 2026 elections, there are lessons to be learned from the 2024 General Election. One important one, which I’ve selected to kick off this series, is about the need for a supercharged voter education effort. No less an organization than the Union of Concerned Scientists pointed out:
“To vote, people need to know basic information about the location of their polling place, what candidates and issues are going to appear on the ballot, and important election dates – all things that are communicated through voter education materials.
In a world where voters increasingly rely on government websites for election information, it is important for state and local election officials to design high-quality and effective online voter education materials. A sizable percentage of voters visit local election office websites to learn the information they need. When people are unable to find this information, they are less likely to vote.”
Attached is my detailed proposal for a consolidated federal/state/local government elections portal. With election administrators strapped for cash and personnel to run elections and cybersecurity a growing concern, it makes fiscal and managerial sense to consolidate and coordinate voter education information. Here’s my plan to do so.
We definitely need Voter reform, including a Law that makes it a Civil Right. Thank You, Sharon for doing so much to make us smarter. Will reStack ASAP 💯👍
