In the aftermath of the 2024 General Elections, many voters have scorched the mainstream medic (electronic and print) for its perceived failures in communicating to the public the strengths/weaknesses of each candidate/party and the likely results of his/her election. Many are searching for alternative media outlets (both print and electronic) to follow on election/governance/public policy issues.[1] See the attached for news sources to sample (e.g., podcasts, print, and radio broadcasts).
[1] Of interest in this regard should be the Media Bias Chart shown above, prepared by Ad Fontes Media, https://guides.library.harvard.edu/newsleans/thechart.
[2] Sorry that I can’t include the text of the post in this email, but including links to other Substack authors in the post blew up the formatting and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it!
This chart, or similar, has been circulating since the 2016 election. The problem is, it needs a third axis for ownership. Cuz billionaires gonna billionaire which means they will eventually want things their own way. As we've just learned.
Odd that neither The Guardian or The Atlantic are on the graphic. If they are, I couldn’t find them. And Breitbart should be much further right and down. Agree about ownership. Should have Sinclair, Nexstar, etc, not just ABC, NBC, and so on.
